Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi has finally met the Afghan child who wore a plastic bag with the Argentine’s name on the back.
The little boy, who is called Murtaza Ahmadi, went viral back in January this year after being pictured taking his love for Messi to a new level.

Murtaza was given the opportunity to meet his idol and stood beside him as his mascot. Understandably, he was unwilling to leave the field of play, and had to be escorted off by an official. In a year defined by so much negativity, it is reassuring that great things do still happen in the world.
