In one of the more surprising transfer rumours of the last few months, Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been linked with Tottenham’s defensive midfielder Eric Dier by papers including the Times.
Dier has been struggling to find a spot in his team’s lineup this term, with signing Victor Wanyama taking his natural position ahead of the back four.
The connection to Bayern is outlandish given their selection of outstanding central midfielders – including hotly tipped wonderkid Renato Sanches, but the connection to Chelsea is perhaps even more odd, given the bad blood between Dier and several Chelsea players whom he tackled with increasing venom in last seasons “Battle of Stamford Bridge” (not that one), visible in the video below.
