With January just around the corner, it’s time for some of the past few months’ rumours to start warming up, and that’s just what’s happened in the multi-year Julian Draxler to Arsenal story.
The midfielder has been linked with a Premier League move for years, but threw everyone off with a sideways transfer from Schalke to Wolfsburg. Things haven’t worked out for the German there, and his long awaited Premier League move seemed to be on the cards again. Arsenal have been linked non stop with the player since the summer.
Now, however, PSG have appeared from nowhere and according to Le Parisien they are very keen on the German international. Arsenal’s disputes with Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez appear to be bogging them down, allowing their French rivals to steal a march on them.
It will be a typically Arsenal blow to lose out on a long term target to a team coming in off the rails, and it is yet further proof of how disruptive to all areas of a club contract disputes can be.
