Wayne Rooney delivers biggest slap in the face to Manchester United supporters possible

Manchester United star Wayne Rooney has reportedly been taking his seven-year-old son Kai to training sessions at Manchester City.

The claim is made by The Daily Mail, and it will surely leave some United fans furious and pretty disappointed that he would be taking him to their direct and fiercest rivals.

It’s added in the report that Kai had been playing at United with their development team since October, but he has been playing on the other side of the city more recently with his father and grandfather said to regularly watch him in action.

Youngsters can’t be signed by clubs until they turn nine and so it’s not out of the ordinary for them to play for various academies before making that decision over their future if their families are serious about pursuing a career in football.

In turn, there’s a long way to go before we potentially start seeing Rooney Jr putting on a City shirt, but even the thought of it is more than likely going to attract some criticism his father’s way.

It’s noted in the report that Kai isn’t the first high-profile child of a player outside of City to take their kid to their facilities, and to the club’s credit they seem to have attracted plenty of praise for how they look to develop young talents.

Nevertheless, die-hard United fans won’t see that bigger picture and will be furious with Rooney as this really is a slap in the face from the England international.
