Arsenal remain hopeful of tying talisman down to new deal but will have to part with a whopping £10M-a-year

Arsenal will have to part with £10 million-a-year if they want to tie talisman Alexis Sanchez down to a new contract, according to the Daily Mail.

Alexis Sanchez has been on the fire for the Gunners so far, having found the back of the net 12 times already in the Premier League. His electric form has been a key contributor to his side’s early season form. Despite a midweek wobble against Everton at Goodison Park, Arsenal are well within the title race going into today’s clash with Manchester City.

One of their key concerns, however, is the possibility of losing Sanchez, as he enters the final 18 months of his contract. The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal are hopeful they can get him to agree to a new deal with Champions League football and a life in London believed to be desirable to the Chilean.

If Sanchez is going to sign a contract extension, however, it will not come cheap. The Daily Mail report that he will demand £10 million-a-year to remain at the Emirates. Arsene Wenger is going to need to get his cheque book out.
