Chelsea legend who has fallen out of favour since his side’s switch to 3-4-3 could be offered La Liga escape route

Chelsea legend Branislav Ivanovic could be offered an escape route from his Stamford Bridge misery by Valencia, according to SuperDeporte.

Ivanovic has made 373 appearances from the Blues since joining in the winter of 2008. He was a stalwart in the side during one of the most successful periods in the club’s history. The 32-year-old has lifted two Premier League titles, three FA Cups, the League Cup, the Community Shield, the Europa League and, of course, the Champions League during his time in West London.

Under the management of Antonio Conte, however, he has fast fallen out-of-favour. Despite being selected by Conte for Chelsea’s opening fixtures this campaign, an injury sustained on international duty derailed his spell in the side. His injury coincided with his side’s switch to a 3-4-3 formation, and subsequently Victor Moses’ meteoric rise.

He has found his route to the starting eleven blocked, and his contract is up in the summer. This could be the perfect time for him to leave the Bridge, and if SuperDeporte are to be believed, Valencia could be the perfect destination.
