Tottenham transfer news: 22-year-old international and £50m-rated star going nowhere

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that none of the club’s top stars will be leaving in the January transfer window.

Spurs have been busy over the past few months signing all their key players to new contracts, and so it came as a surprise to see Eric Dier and Dele Alli in particular linked with exits in January.

As per The Times, Pochettino has had to promise that Dier is going nowhere, despite the fact that the 22-year-old has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Bayern Munich with talk that he was unhappy about his lack of starting appearances so far this season.

Further, Pochettino has rebuffed talk that Alli is going anywhere, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly ready to make a £50m bid for the playmaker, according to The Mirror.

While Dier is now contracted to Tottenham for another five years and with Alli signing a new deal for another six, it looks as though they are both set for long-term stays at White Hart Lane.

Supporters may have been slightly concerned about the speculation linking them with exits, but based on The Times report, Pochettino and the club have no intention of selling either of them.

With Tottenham currently three points off the pace with regards to the top four in the Premier League, it’s fair to say that the situation could change if they fail to make the Champions League next season.

While it’s unlikely that any of the players who signed new deals this year would be ready to push for an exit given how settled that group is, without a seat at Europe’s top table, it will only lead to further speculation linking the club’s biggest names with moves elsewhere.
