Dimitri Payet flutters his eyelashes at Arsenal despite West Ham’s sturdy stance

In what has been a bad season for West Ham, Dimitri Payet has not made too much of a fuss given the way he ended Euro 2016 as one of the world’s most talked about players.

He has largely got his head down and continued to work even as the Hammers have struggled, and hasn’t indulged in too much “wantaway” behaviour.

He did this week speak favourably in the French press about Arsene Wenger and joining him at Arsenal however.

“I read that Wenger considers me the missing piece of Arsenal’s game,” the Frenchman is quoted as telling RMC by the Mirror “but he’s never told me that!”

“You could have fun in that team” he added, possibly wistfully imagining what he could do with the amount of possession Arsenal get, not to mention the number of free kicks they win just outside the box.

West Ham will be desperate to keep hold of Payet through January in order to secure their Premier League status, but come this summer it’s hard to see him staying put, especially as he moves into his thirties.
