In the wake of Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, manager Antonio Conte granted the first team squad three days off, allowing his all-conquering side a little break before the tough Christmas period begins on Monday night.
While Diego Costa zoomed back to his hometown in Lagarte, Brazil; Thibaut Courtois went on a romantic trip to New York. The Instagram accounts of various other players reveal their respective exotic destinations.
However one man who didn’t get his holiday was Eden Hazard. According to the Sun,the Belgian winger has spent the time at Stamford Bridge working on a knee injury that he picked up ten days ago.
The former Lille man got battered against West Brom earlier this month, and was unable to play in the midweek game against Sunderland. While he returned for the win over Palace, Chelsea medical staff are clearly not 100% happy with his status.
There seems to be general confidence that Hazard will be able to play on Monday night however, and without the suspended Diego Costa or N’Golo Kante in the team, they’re going to need him.
