West Ham set to make third swoop for Arsenal defender who has already made 59 appearances for the Hammers

West Ham are considering making a move to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson on loan in the January transfer window, according to the Evening Standard.

Jenkinson has history with the Hammers. The 24-year-old made 59 appearances during two loan spells for West Ham, before returning to the Emirates after sustaining a long-term injury.

If the Evening Standard are to be believed, he could be set for a third move to Slaven Bilic’s side. Jenkinson has fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, and has little chance of pushing past Hector Bellerin and into the starting eleven. At West Ham, it could well be a different story. Their side is by no means settled after a disappointing start to the season – which sees them sit 13th in the Premier League table.

West Ham may face competition for his signature, however, with the Evening Standard reporting that Hull City, Swansea City and Aston Villa are all also interested in securing Jenkinson’s services.
