Valencia interested in signing West Ham striker who has not scored in 11 appearances on a six-month loan deal

Valencia are confident of securing a six-month loan deal for West Ham flop Simone Zaza, according to the Mirror.

Zaza looked to be the answer to West Ham’s goal-scoring woes when the Hammers signed him on a season-long loan in the summer transfer window, but all has not gone to plan for the Italian. He has failed to find the back of the net in any of his 11 outings in claret and blue, and hasn’t looked like doing so. He has lost his spot in the side since Andy Carroll’s return to injury, and it appears that his time at the London Stadium may be coming to an end already.

The Mirror report that Valencia’s director of football has already met with Zaza’s agent to enquire as to his availability. They note that the La Liga giants are interested in signing him on loan until the season’s end.

As per the Mirror, there are several complications involved in the deal, as Valencia have to negotiate with both West Ham and Juventus in order to find an agreement. The tabloid also note that Zaza will need to take a pay cut if he is to make the move.

It looks as though West Ham have already lined up a replacement, click here to find out who.
