West Ham table £8.5M bid for striker who has directly contributed to a goal every 142 minutes in Ligue 1 this season

West Ham have tabled an £8.5 million bid to try and secure the services of Toulouse striker Martin Braithwaite in the January transfer window, according to RMC Sport.

Braithwaite has scored seven goals and provided three assists in Ligue 1 this campaign, directly contributing to a goal every 142 minutes. He is enjoying the best start to a season of his career so far and is well on his way to bettering his best goals tally in France’s top division of 11.

The Hammers are in dire need of a new centre-forward. Simone Zaza, signed on loan in the summer from Juventus, was initially seen to be the answer to their goal-scoring woes. He has, however, failed to score in any of his 11 appearances so far for the club. Andy Carroll, on the other hand, can not be relied on due to recurring injury issues.

Braithwaite could be Slaven Bilic’s saving grace as he looks to turn West Ham’s stuttering season around. RMC Sport believe that the London club have already made a £8.5 million bid ahead of the upcoming transfer window. This is undoubtedly a rumour to keep an eye on ahead of January.
