Liverpool and Tottenham set to miss out: £25M transfer flop edging closer to sealing January move to Serie A giants

PSG winger Jese is set to snub interest from Liverpool and Tottenham in favour of a move to Serie A giants Roma, according to The Sun.

Jese was widely seen as one of Spain’s most promising young players during his time at Real Madrid. After a prolific season with Real Madrid Castilla, he was promoted to the first-team, and took to life in La Liga like a fish to water. However, he was unable to nail down a spot in the starting eleven due to the plethora of talent that Los Blancos have in attack and subsequently signed for PSG in what The Sun believe to be a £25 million deal.

It has been a similar story for the 23-year-old in Paris, however, and it appears that he will already be departing in the upcoming transfer window. The Sun believe that both Tottenham and Liverpool are interested in signing Jese as they look to strengthen their respective attacks. It does appear as though they will both be missing out, though.

As per The Sun, Roma are leading the race to sign Jese as they look to provide cover for Mohamed Salah, who will spend the majority of next month at the African Cup of Nations with Egypt.

It is unclear whether either side will now pursue other options, or just saw Jese’s availability as a chance to sign a quality player.
