Today’s copy of the Times has a fresh transfer rumour to see in 2017.
It involves Atletico Madrid stars Saul Niguel and Antoine Griezmann, who are linked with a potential transfer to Manchester United.
While Griezmann has been linked with a big money move to the Premier League almost constantly since making his breakthrough at Real Sociedad, this is the first time that Niguez has been thrown in as part of the deal.
The pair have buyout clauses in their contracts totaling £155m, although United believe they can negotiate a lower cost for the two.
Griezmann’s friendship with France teammate Paul Pogba has been the source of much speculation, with many people seeing the former Juventus man as trying to persuade his countryman to join him at Old Trafford.
Niguez would be significantly less expensive than his teammate, but has a lot less experience at the top level, and might require some time to settle in in the Premier League.
