Manchester United’s momentum points towards one thing at the end of this season

It may have only been a cup game, but an 8th win in all competitions for Manchester United yesterday against Reading will have a lot of teams in the Premier League very concerned.

It’s the best run for the Red Devils since 2009, and they look to be in top form. Even this rotated side dominated a Reading team that has impressed everyone who has seen them this season – including Jose Mourinho as he mentioned before kick off.

At this rate, teams like Liverpool and Arsenal who may have been starting to think they had a decent cushion over United will suddenly be looking with fear at the momentum Mourinho is generating at Old Trafford. As for Manchester City, their chances of a top four finish are taking a hit every time the team from across town notch another win.

There’s plenty of season left to play, but the turnaround at Old Trafford has been very impressive in the last couple of months, and with the Premier League, the Europa Leaguem the FA Cup and the EFL Cup all to play for, suddenly at least one trophy looks very attainable – perhaps even likely – this season.
