Inter Milan are preparing a club-record £68 million bid for PSG midfielder and Chelsea target Marco Verratti, report The Sun.
Verratti has emerged as one of the most accomplished midfielders in the world during his time in Ligue 1, and it appears to have caught the eye of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
As per The Sun, Chelsea are interested in signing Verratti, who worked with Blues boss Antonio Conte while he was manager of the Italian national team.
However, their pursuit of the 24-year-old could be in jeopardy. The Sun cite Italian site Corriere dello Sport in reporting that Inter have contacted Verratti’s representatives over a potential return to the Serie A.
They claim that PSG have put a £68 million price-tag on his head, but that’s a price that Inter would be prepared to pay and they are in the process of preparing an offer. It remains to be seen whether Chelsea would be willing to match that proposal.
