Crystal Palace transfer news: £32M striker who has scored 44 goals since 2013 to reject China and remain at Selhurst Park

Christian Benteke will reject the vast wealth that the Chinese Super League has to offer and remain at Crystal Palace, according to the Daily Mail.

Benteke has emerged as one of the most prolific strikers in the Premier League since joining in the summer of 2012. In his debut season at Aston Villa, he found the back of the net on 23 occasions in 39 appearances.

Despite battling against poor form and frequent injury issues, he has still managed to score 44 goals since, during stints at Liverpool and Crystal Palace. His consistent goal-scoring appears to be attracting interest from the far east.

As per the Daily Mail, Benteke would double his wages if he was tempted into a move to the Chinese Super League this month. However, he is not keen on moving during this transfer window and will instead stay and fight to maintain Crystal Palace’s Premier League status.

The tabloid claim that Palace parted with £32 million to sign Benteke in the summer – they are going to need him fit and firing in order to avoid relegation.
