Arsene Wenger insists that Arsenal will not be held to ransom by the demands of star duo Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, report The Sun.

The Gunners fell out of the top four after Tottenham’s 2-0 victory over leaders Chelsea, but there situation would undoubtedly be a lot worse without the immeasurable influence of Sanchez and Ozil.

Sanchez has contributed to 15 goals and ten assists so far this term, a direct goal contribution every 88 minutes. He trails only Diego Costa in the race for the Premier League Golden Boot.

Ozil has also been finding the back of the net frequently this season, having done so nine times; he also has six assists to go with that.

Despite their immense contributions, Wenger insists that Arsenal will not change their wage structure to accompany for their talismanic pair. The Sun quote the Gunners boss as saying: “We have to respect our line of conduct that we always have. It is important that we have stability in our squad and they are part of that.”

The tabloid believe that both Sanchez and Ozil are demanding a wage packet that will put them on par with Paul Pogba’s £250,000k-a-week that he earns at Manchester United. It doesn’t look as though that’s a price Arsenal will be willing to pay.
