Diego Costa transfer news: Chelsea teammates urge Spaniard to offer solution to end rumours

Chelsea striker Diego Costa has been linked with an exit from the club this week, but his teammates want the issue to be resolved and have offered an idea.

According to The Telegraph, it’s claimed that the Spanish forward was dropped for his side’s win at Leicester City on Saturday evening after a row with a fitness coach and Antonio Conte earlier this week.

It came at a time where rumours suggested that there was an offer from China on the table for the Chelsea frontman, and Conte opted to make him train away from the rest of the squad this week before leaving him out against Leicester.

The report has claimed that the Chelsea squad have tried to find peace between the two parties by encouraging Costa to apologise as ultimately he won’t be sold this month and has a crucial role to play in the club’s pursuit of a Premier League title.

Whether they are successful in doing so remains to be seen, but it’s certainly a commendable pro-active approach from the players who continue to hope that Costa will remain and score the goals that helps seal a title.

The 28-year-old has scored 14 league goals already this season, and although his absence didn’t derail the Blues further as they ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Leicester, they will still need him in key games to lead the line.

The riches of China will be difficult to turn down, but the general consensus is that it shouldn’t be a concern for Chelsea until the summer as Costa won’t leave midway through the season. Further, that the spat can easily be resolved between Conte and his star man after weeks of showing how close their relationship is following a string of impressive results.
