Liverpool’s 4 goal forward the key man against Jose Mourinho’s solid core

Today’s game between Man United and Liverpool is nicely set up, with both sides looking for a statement win to keep them in the chase behind Chelsea.

United are in the better form, and have been steamrollering all comers in the last two months. Liverpool have been picking up points but have seen their imperious form wobble a little in the same period.

The key to the game will be the form of the United centre backs. Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo have looked excellent under Jose Mourinho, and Liverpool will have to do very well to beat them.

With Sadio Mane at the Africa Cup of Nations, the burden will likely fall on young Divock Origi. The Belgian has developed well over this season but this is a huge test for him. He is surrounded by great talent which will help, but when it comes down to it a huge amount will rest on whether the 21 year old can get the better of United’s solid back line and take the chances that are put his way.
