(Video) Liverpool and Swansea produce thriller as stunning Roberto Firmino goal not enough

Liverpool and Swansea City may have produced a very forgettable first half on Saturday, but the two sides went toe-to-toe after the break in a dramatic encounter at Anfield.

Neither side were able to find a breakthrough in the opening 45 minutes, but Anfield was left stunned early in the second period with Fernando Llorente scoring twice to give his side a commanding lead.

However, it didn’t last long as Roberto Firmino struck a brace to bring the hosts roaring back into the game as they pushed forward looking for the winner.

His second was a brilliant individual effort as the Brazilian international showed great control and touch before volleying his effort into the back of the net.

Just when the Reds thought they were in the ascendency and it would ultimately be a backs-against-the-wall job for Swansea, the visitors broke with numbers and after a bit of luck, the ball dropped into the path of Gylfi Sigurdsson who kept his composure and slotted the ball past Simon Mignolet.

It’s a major setback for Liverpool who are still without a win in the Premier League in 2017, and depending on results elsewhere, they are more than likely to lose further ground in the Premier League title race and piles on the pressure in the push for a top-four finish.

In contrast, it’s a huge result for Paul Clement’s side as they showed great quality going forward to claim the win and will hope it inspires an escape from the relegation battle.
