Antonio Conte dismisses talk seven-goal Chelsea hero will quit for PL rivals

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has ruled out the possibility of Willian securing a reunion with Jose Mourinho at Manchester United this summer.

As noted by The Mirror, the Brazilian is said to be consistently linked with being keen on another spell working under the Portuguese tactician.

Having worked to great effect together at Stamford Bridge the season before last, it comes as no surprise if that is indeed true.

Nevertheless, Conte doesn’t have any intention of letting his star playmaker leave as he insisted he hadn’t even heard of the rumour, although as ever, the Italian sensibly switched the focus back to the present and not what might happen in the summer.

“I don’t know about this [interest from Man United). It is not important. Now is about the present to take the best choice for the team. Then we can talk about the future.

“But be focused on the present.”

The 28-year-old has scored seven goals in 23 appearances in all competitions so far this season, and has certainly played his role in Chelsea’s march to reclaim the Premier League title.

However, with Pedro and Eden Hazard providing quality competition in the wide positions under Conte, it may well have led to the Brazilian international looking at his options.

Nevertheless, the Chelsea boss has no intention of letting him leave and surely not to a direct rival, while he will be stressing the need to add quality and depth to his squad this summer not losing key players and weakening the group.
