Manchester United took a commanding 2-0 lead over Watford at Old Trafford on Saturday, with Anthony Martial playing a leading role for the hosts.
The Frenchman now has three goals and three assists in his last five starts for United, as he continues to deliver when given an opportunity by Jose Mourinho.
Having set up the opening goal of the game for Juan Mata, he took it upon himself to double United’s lead as he cut inside from the left and arrowed an effort past Heurelho Gomes.

The Brazilian shot-stopper may argue that Zlatan Ibrahimovic was obstructing his view, but the United forward wasn’t in on offside position and so the goal stood with Martial naturally delighted with having a decisive impact on the game.
In turn, with the hosts in control, they appear to be on course to continue to close the gap on their rivals above them as they continue their pursuit of a top-four finish this season with Mourinho’s men in great form.
