Pep Guardiola style blamed for wantaway Man City star’s exit this summer

Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero is reportedly set to leave the club this summer as he doesn’t feel appreciated enough by Pep Guardiola.

The Argentine international has found himself on the bench for the last two games, with new signing Gabriel Jesus getting the nod and impressing in his place.

With Guardiola preferring a high-tempo pressing game, Aguero has been the odd man out at times this season, although the 28-year-old has still managed to score 18 goals in 26 appearances in all competitions.

Nevertheless, according to The Sun, he has told friends that he’s ready to quit the club this summer, even though City have no intention of selling him.

It’s added that he still has over three years remaining on his £250,000-a-week contract, but with Real Madrid and Inter claimed to be poised to make a bid for his services, he could be moving on if he feels his time in Manchester is coming to an end.

It’s fair to say that Jesus has certainly showed that he can fit into Guardiola’s style of play and has the energy and movement to press from the front which is simply not a part of Aguero’s natural game.

In turn, it would appear as though Guardiola has his best option in the Brazilian, and his prolific talisman will certainly not be content with a regular place on the bench behind the teenager moving forward.

Given his brilliant record of 113 goals in 168 Premier League outings since joining the club in 2011, if Aguero was to leave this summer, it would be a major blow for the title contenders who will find it tough to replace him.
