(Video) Calls for Arsenal legend to be sacked as viewers accuse him of racism

Former Arsenal defender Lee Dixon may have put his foot in while on commentary duty for NBC for Liverpool’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

As heard in the video below, the 52-year-old was reacting to an incident where Heung-Min Son hacked down Roberto Firmino with an awful foul.

In a poor choice of words, Dixon’s reaction wasn’t the best and it led to many viewers picking up on it and commenting on Twitter.

As of yet, there has been no word from NBC or Dixon over his remarks, and in truth, having established himself as a top pundit and commentator, there is no suggestion that there was anything malicious in it and it was merely an inappropriate mistake on his part.

Nevertheless, he surely can’t be getting away with saying something like that and it remains to be seen whether or not any action will take place.

Liverpool went on to win the game 2-0 as they finally put an end to their slump at the expense of one of their rivals for a top-four finish in the Premier League, but this incident certainly made the headlines and went viral on social media with others backing Dixon over it and arguing that it was nothing more than an innocent comment…
