Chelsea have joined four other European heavyweights in the race to sign Flamengo wonderkid Felipe Vizeu, according to The Sun.
Vizeu made his debut in 2016 as an 18-year-old. He has gone on to make 15 appearances for Flamengo, during which he has found the back of the net on five occasions. He has also made ten appearances for the Brazil U-20 side, scoring three times.
His good form in Europe appears to have captured the attention of several of Europe’s biggest names. According to The Sun, Chelsea, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund, Fiorentina and Lazio are all interested in securing Vizeu’s services.
The Sun report that if any side wants to sign Vizeu, they will have to meet his £25.7 million release clause, which is a hefty fee to part with for a player with little experience in professional football.
However, if the 19-year-old reaches the heights expected of him, it could well be an astute investment.
