Real Madrid have joined a host of European heavyweights chasing Celtic prodigy Moussa Dembele, according to the Mirror.

Dembele bagged 17 goals in all competitions for Fulham last campaign. When it became clear that he would not be extending his contract with the Championship side, the race to secure his services on a free transfer intensified.

Ultimately it was Scottish giants Celtic who secured his signature, and it looks to have been an astute move for both parties. Dembele has already found the back of the net 27 times in all competitions, establishing himself as one of the most exciting young strikers in Europe.

His good form has not gone unnoticed. According to the Mirror, several of England’s household names are pursuing the 20-year-old. The tabloid believe that Manchester City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool are all interested in signing Dembele.

They will, according to the Mirror, have to compete with the biggest club side in the world. The Mirror believe that Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Dembele, and have asked to be kept updated on any movements regarding the striker’s future.

The Mirror believe that if any club wants to pinch Dembele from Celtic in the summer, they will have to part with as much as £40 million. In the current market, he may well be worth every penny.
