Tottenham transfer news: misfit who signed for £30M in the summer could be offered top-level lifeline by Serie A giants

Tottenham misfit Moussa Sissoko could be offered an escape route from the Spurs bench by one of Italy’s biggest clubs, report The Sun.

Sissoko showed moments of star quality during his Newcastle career, but was never able to replicate that good form on a consistent basis. After a stellar Euro 2016 campaign, during which France reached the final in their home country, the 27-year-old earned himself a move to Tottenham.

According to The Sun, Mauricio Pochettino parted with as much as £30million to secure Sissoko’s services. In hindsight, it was not a shrewd piece of business from the North London side.

The Frenchman has been virtually glued to the bench since moving to White Hart Lane, and when he has been on the field of play, he has fallen short of what was expected of him. However, he could be set to be offered a lifeline at the top level.

The Sun cite reports in Italy in reporting that Sissoko is a target for Serie A giants AC Milan. They believe that Sissoko’s lack of first-team action at White Hart Lane has paved the way for I Rossoneri to swoop. We will have to wait and see if this deal materialises.
