Chelsea are set to go head-to-head with Manchester City in the race to sign Monaco youngster Thomas Lemar, report The Sun.
Lemar started off as an R&B singer, where he had seven top ten singles and sold over two million albums. Wait, wrong Lemar?
Sorry, this is Thomas Lemar. A product of the Caen academy who joined Monaco in 2015 and has since established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in France.
His good performances under the stewardship of Leonardo Jardim appear to have captured the attention of two Premier League household names.
According to The Sun, both Chelsea and Manchester City are interested in securing the 21-year-old’s services. The tabloid note that either side would have to part with as much as £30million if they wanted to add Lemar to their side.
The Sun note that Lemar has expressed his desire to work with Pep Guardiola should he call time on his Monaco career. If there’s any justice in the world, he may well get his wish.
