Real Madrid have joined Chelsea and Manchester City in the race to sign Juventus centre-back Leonardo Bonucci, report Calciomercato.

Bonucci needs absolutely no introduction. In recent seasons, he has established himself as one of the best defenders in Serie and the world. His stellar Euro 2016 campaign displayed his talents for the world to see. His combative defensive style and classy distribution from the back has seen him rise head and shoulders above many of his counterparts.

His good performances appear to have captured the attention of some of Juventus’ fellow European heavyweights. Calciomercato report that both Chelsea and Manchester City are keen to secure Bonucci’s services. Antonio Conte has worked with the 29-year-old with both Juventus and the Italian national team, while City boss Pep Guardiola is in dire need of defensive reinforcements.

However, they both face stern competition. Calciomercato cite Spanish reports in claiming that La Liga giants Real Madrid have joined the race to sign Bonucci. This three-way battle could be one to keep an eye on as we approach the summer transfer window.
