Chelsea sweep up at awards ceremony with Conte, summer signing and club legend picking up gongs

Chelsea enjoyed a great night at the London Football Awards 2017 with Antonio Conte, N’Golo Kante and Frank Lampard all receiving recognition.

Kante arguably picked up the most impressive nod as he beat the likes of Diego Costa, Dele Alli and Danny Rose and Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez to the Player of the Year award.

The Frenchman has made a stunning start to life at Stamford Bridge since his summer switch from champions Leicester City, as he looks well on course to win back-to-back Premier League titles with two different clubs.

Having been an ever-present for Conte this season, his tenacious and powerful performances in midfield have been an integral part of Chelsea’s success and so his award is certainly well deserved.

Meanwhile, Conte picked up the Manager of the Year award as the Italian tactician continues to enjoy a great first campaign in England.

After struggling in September, he tinkered with his system and personnel and hasn’t looked back as he looks to join an exclusive club of foreign managers to win the title in their first season in charge.

Elsewhere, Lampard received the Outstanding Contribution prize as the Chelsea legend was able to join the awards fun with his former club on a great night for the Blues as they hope to finish the season strong and pick up some other major honours in May too.
