Liverpool plot major spending spree with Klopp eyeing six new signings headed by £60m striker

Liverpool are reportedly ready to make plenty of noise in the transfer market this summer, although it will be dependent on their fortunes this season.

Jurgen Klopp is said to have recognised the need to bring in five or six top class signings ahead of next season in order to really compete, as per The Mirror, particularly if the Reds finish in the top four in the Premier League this season and qualify for the Champions League.

The report claims that Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette, who is also a £60m target for Arsenal, and midfielder Naby Keita are amongst the names top of the transfer shortlist as Klopp plots some big changes to his squad to ensure that the club continues to move forward.

It’s added that Daniel Sturridge will be allowed to move on this summer if the right offer comes in, and that in turn will clear the way for Liverpool to launch an assault for Lacazette to solve their issues up front.

There’s no denying that the French international would be a great signing for whichever club he decides to join, as having now scored 20+ Ligue 1 goals in the last three seasons, he’s surely ready to make the step up and take on a bigger challenge in England.

It’s added that Liverpool have been watching him for the last three years and so he’s no stranger to them, while they’ve also been keeping close tabs on Keita and intend on prising him away from RB Leipzig this summer.

It won’t be easy though as the Mirror add that the 22-year-old is attracting interest from elsewhere in Germany as well as from around Europe, and so while Klopp may have some ambitious plans for Liverpool this summer, he’ll be under pressure to deliver especially after the way in which the club’s season has fallen apart since the turn of the year.
