Tottenham set to snap up £30m PL star this summer as Pochettino closes in on top target

Tottenham are reportedly confident that they will finally land £30m-rated Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha this summer.

The 24-year-old has been a key figure for the Eagles, scoring five goals and providing eight assists in 24 Premier League outings so far this season.

However, interest from Tottenham is seemingly going nowhere as The Mirror report that they are ready to revisit their interest in the Ivory Coast international after having a £12m offer rejected last summer.

Mauricio Pochettino evidently wants him at White Hart Lane as it’s claimed that he’s ready to return with a much-improved offer of £30m having again been pushed back by their Premier League rivals in the January transfer window when Palace remained resolute in their bid to keep Zaha.

Nevertheless, it’s reported that there could finally be a softening in their stance this summer which will be music to the ears of Tottenham and they will hope that it’s third time lucky when they try again at the end of the season.

Zaha is currently on £40,000-a-week with his deal set to expire in 2020, but Tottenham will undoubtedly be ready to offer much more to try and prise him away from Selhurst Park, as per the Mirror.

However, what Spurs will hope for is that it isn’t another signing that turns out like Moussa Sissoko or Vincent Janssen, as Pochettino will need to get this one right after his business last summer has been questioned this season.

There are of course more assurances with Zaha given that he’s produced in the Premier League and has found some consistency in his performances, but it remains to be seen if Tottenham are able to bring an end to the saga in the summer.
