Manchester City prepared to beat the current world transfer record by more than £40M to land teenager from Serie A giants

Manchester City could break the world transfer record in order to land AC Milan goalkeeper prodigy Gianluigi Donnarumma, report The Sun.

Though only 18-years-old, Donnarumma has already become a cornerstone in Milan’s side between the sticks. He has made 63 appearances in total for the Serie A giants, with 59 of them coming in Italy’s top tier. His good performances have also earned him two appearances for the Italian national team. It is genuinely incredible how much he has achieved for a player of his tender age.

Though still only a teenager, he could well be about to have his name written into football history. The Sun cite Sky Italia in reporting that Manchester City are prepared to part with an eye-watering £130million in order to secure the Italian’s services.

They believe that Claudio Bravo’s disappointing debut season at the Etihad could see Pep Guardiola go into the market for a replacement, and Donnarumma ticks all the boxes.

The Sun believe that City’s local rivals Man United forked out £89million to land Paul Pogba in the summer. That means that Donnarumma’s potential transfer to Man City would beat the current world transfer record by more than £40million. Just a quick reminder, he’s only 18-years-old.
