Chelsea transfer news: Roman Abramovich agreed £155.5M deal for global superstar, Antonio Conte wasn’t so keen

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich agreed a deal with Barcelona to sign Neymar, but Antonio Conte wasn’t interested, report the Metro.

Neymar needs absolutely no introduction, he is widely considered one of the best players on the planet. Since signing for Barcelona in the summer of 2013, he has found the back of the net 63 times and provided 36 assists for his teammates.

The threesome he has formed with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi has proven to be devastating to opposing defences, and was a major contributor in Barcelona’s treble win in 2015.

You would think that any manager in the world would be desperate to add Neymar to their sides, but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

The Metro cite Italian reports in claiming that Chelsea agreed a £155.5million deal to sign Neymar from Barcelona – but the deal was blocked by Conte. The reasons behind Conte’s disinterest in Neymar are so far unclear, but it doesn’t look as though the Brazilian will be making the move to West London any time soon.
