Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Barcelona attacking midfielder Rafinha Alcantara, report Calciomercato.
Rafinha is a product of Barcelona’s illustrious La Masia academy, but made just three appearances in two years after breaking into the first-team squad. He was subsequently shipped out on loan to Celta in hope he could secure first-team football and continue in his development.
The Brazilian impressed during his time with the La Liga outfit, and it prompted Luis Enrique to draft him back into the squad. This season, Rafinha has proven to be a useful utility option for Barca, finding the back of the net six times in 17 appearances in Spain’s top tier.
His good form appears to have caught the eye of two of the Premier League’s biggest names. Calciomercato report that both Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing him in the summer. It remains to be seen how much it will take to convince Barcelona to sell-up.
