Influential Chelsea ace holds positive talks with La Liga giants claim Spanish media

Chelsea forward Eden Hazard has reportedly held positive talks with Real Madrid regarding a shock switch to the Bernabeu this summer.

The 26-year-old has been an influential figure for Antonio Conte’s side this season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists in 31 appearances in all competitions.

Chelsea remain on course to reclaim the Premier League title this season, but according to Marca, as seen on the frontpage of Sunday’s paper edition below, they could be set to lose a key part of their success this summer.

With Madrid ready to spend big ahead of next season to bolster their squad, it appears as though Hazard fits the bill as The Sun add details to the story by noting that the Belgian international is reportedly learning Spanish while reminding readers that Hazard and Zinedine Zidane have swapped praise for each other in recent months.

It’s unclear how it would work given the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema, unless Madrid are planning a reshuffle with James Rodriguez and Isco at risk of being pushed further down the pecking order.

Nevertheless, it seems as though Los Blancos are ready to add a marquee signing to their ranks at the end of the season and Chelsea could be at risk of losing one of their main stars which would be a major blow for Conte.

Hazard had a season to forget last year while Chelsea struggled across the board. However, having regained full fitness, his confidence and some form, he has returned to being one of the main protagonists at Stamford Bridge.
