Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez is reportedly in talks with Paris Saint-Germain as he continues to be linked with an exit from north London this summer.
The 28-year-old has been in great form for the most part this season, contributing 22 goals and 18 assists in 39 appearances in all competitions.
From that perspective, Arsenal will be desperate to keep him. However, through a combination of his contract expiring next summer and the Gunners struggling to compete for major trophies on the pitch, it has led to speculation that he could leave this summer.
According to RMC Sport, the Chilean international is in discussions with PSG over a summer switch, with the report not only suggesting that he’s very much on their shortlist, but also the fact that his agent has met with club officials ‘several times’ and is scheduled to meet them again later this month.
It’s added that one of the main issues to the move going through is interest from Chelsea, as Antonio Conte is a big admirer of Sanchez, and if there is a possibility that he would swap Arsenal for the Blues, then they’ll look to try and make it happen.
The former Barcelona and Udinese star seems more and more likely to leave the Emirates this summer, but even though he only has one year left on his contract, it’s claimed that Arsenal will still demand €50m for his services if they are forced to sell him.
Given their desire to avoid selling him to a rival Premier League club though, it gives PSG another possible advantage. However, time will tell if Unai Emery gets a marquee signing to work with ahead of next season if they can prise Sanchez away from Arsenal this summer.
