Real Madrid eye sensational double swoop for Chelsea ace and £85m superstar

Real Madrid are reportedly considering a stunning double swoop, signing Eden Hazard this summer before raiding Atletico Madrid for Antoine Griezmann next year.

In line with their ‘Galacticos’ transfer strategy, it appears as though the Spanish giants are ready to make some significant moves in the market despite already possessing the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

According to L’Equipe, they will make a move for Hazard at the end of this season with Florentino Perez agreeing to make a big summer signing ahead of the presidential election in July.

In a separate report, L’Equipe believe that Madrid have also planned their next assault too although it remains to be seen how realistic a move for Griezmann will be as Atleti will surely have no desire to sell to their direct rivals.

Both players in question have consistently dismissed talk over their future and so there is no real certainty that Real’s plans will go ahead, but it’s undoubtedly an ambitious strategy as they look to sign two of Europe’s top players and they seemingly have the financial power and appeal to make it happen.

While Griezmann has been pivotal for Atleti and France for a few years now, Hazard has returned to form this season to help Chelsea stay on course to win the Premier League title.

Naturally though, it will be expensive for Madrid to sign both as while Hazard will command a significant price-tag, The Telegraph report that Griezmann has an £85m release clause in his current deal and so while Manchester United have been linked with a move, it will take a substantial fee to prise him away from the red and white half of the Spanish capital.
