Arsenal legend in heated Twitter spat with Stan Collymore over Ross Barkley controversy

The controversy over The Sun columnist Kelvin MacKenzie’s article on Everton star Ross Barkley has resulted in Stan Collymore and Ian Wright swapping insults.

While the disgraceful article has resulted in him being suspended by the paper, it has caused further issues with Collymore being very vocal in his criticism towards the Sun and Mackenzie himself, not just this week but as part of the wider problem with the paper.

The former Liverpool, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest forward also hit out at those working for the Sun who would in turn come out and criticise MacKenzie, all the while being happy working for the publication.

Queue Wright’s reaction. That in turn led to Collymore responding and set in motion a couple of tweets with nasty responses flying back and forth between the pair with the past being brought up.

While some Twitter users enjoyed it, it wasn’t particularly pleasant to see as ultimately the issue is MacKenzie and the Sun and all criticism and anger should be directed at them over this latest controversy.
