Liverpool confirmed line-up vs Southampton: Massive Klopp boost as Reds unchanged

Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield on Sunday afternoon hoping to take a big step towards securing Champions League qualification for next season.

The Reds sit in fourth place in the standings ahead of kick off, just four points above Manchester United and nine ahead of Arsenal who have two games in hand.

Looking above though, a win over the Saints would move Jurgen Klopp’s men back up to third at the expense of Manchester City with just two games left in the season after this weekend.

In turn, it’s crucial that Liverpool avoid a slip-up this weekend and do their job, which will allow them to sit back and enjoy United’s clash with Arsenal hoping that a favourable result all-but secures their place at Europe’s top table next season.

It won’t be easy against the visitors who have proven that they can trouble the Reds with their EFL Cup win earlier in the season over two legs, with James Milner noting this weekend that the hosts want revenge for that loss.

Liverpool of course boast a number of former Southampton players too, and they’ll be hoping to make a key difference in the game to help the Merseysiders march on and secure a top-four finish this season.

As for the Liverpool line-up, Klopp receives a huge boost in that he doesn’t have to make any changes to the side that faced Watford last time out, with that consistency and familiarity arguably key in the last few games of the season as they look to pick up maximum points.
