Man Utd line-up vs Crystal Palace: Four squad debutants for Mourinho, possible Rooney farewell

Man Utd take on Crystal Palace in their final Premier League game of the season, and as promised, Jose Mourinho has made several changes.

With the Europa League final against Ajax in Stockholm to prepare for in midweek, the Portuguese tactician has rested several key players.

Coupled with the fact that there is nothing left to play for in the league for either side, Mourinho insisted earlier this month after booking their spot in the final that he would make plenty of changes.

He hasn’t disappointed, as four youngsters make the senior squad for the first time in Kieran O’Hara, Josh Harrop, Santi Gomes and Zak Dearnley, with several other surprise inclusions in the starting line-up as seen below.

Meanwhile, it could very well be a Wayne Rooney farewell at Old Trafford with the United stalwart strongly linked with an exit this summer, although as noted by The Daily Mail, a decision over his future could be delayed.

However, the focus for all concerned on Sunday will be to get through the game without any key players picking up injuries and in turn getting ready for Wednesday’s clash with Ajax.

Having missed out on the top four, United will be under heavy pressure to see off Ajax and in turn secure their place in the Champions League next season.
