According to reports in Chile, Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez has agreed to a move to Manchester City, but the Gunners are pushing him to move elsewhere.

The 28-year-old was a pivotal figure for Arsenal last season, scoring 30 goals and providing 19 assists in 51 appearances for the club in a disappointing campaign overall which ended on a high with the FA Cup triumph.

However, with just 12 months remaining on his current contract, speculation has been rife about his future and whether or not he would leave the Emirates this summer if a new deal couldn’t be agreed upon.

Arsenal will not want to lose him for nothing next year and so they could be willing to discuss a sale, but according to The Sun, they won’t be happy with the latest reports coming out of Chile as they suggest that Sanchez has completed his move to City.

The news has been circulated by respected Chilean journalist Fernando Solabarrieta, as per the report, which is the biggest indication yet that a swoop might be happening as Pep Guardiola would undoubtedly love a player with the attributes that Sanchez has to lead the line for his side next season.

It’s added by the Sun though that Arsenal have denied any such deal for Sanchez has been agreed upon after being contacted by the paper, while it’s suggested that if they are forced into selling their talisman, the north London giants would prefer to do so to a team outside of the Premier League.

As noted by the Evening Standard, Sanchez is reportedly being offered £350,000-a-week by Bayern Munich as part of a £40m deal, and so the German champions will surely be the preferred destination in the event that Arsenal have no other choice but to let the Chilean ace leave.
