Man Utd handed major transfer boost, key target available in cut-price £23m deal

Man Utd have reportedly been given a transfer boost as Bayern Munich are ready to lower their demands for midfield ace Renato Sanches.

After impressing for Benfica and at Euro 2016, the 19-year-old landed the opportunity to join Bayern Munich last summer and had been tipped for a big future.

However, his first season in Germany didn’t go to plan as he failed to find a single goal or assist in 25 appearances in all competitions, while it was overall not quite what the Bavarian giants expected from the youngster.

In turn, according to The Sun, as per Kicker, Jose Mourinho is very interested in acquiring the Portuguese international and wants to add him next to Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera in his midfield to create a more dynamic and powerful trio next season and beyond.

Further, he could be handed a very welcome boost with the fact that it’s added Sanches could be available for £23m this summer, £7.5m less than what Bayern were initially demanding at the start of the summer.

It comes after the German champions signed Corentin Tolisso too, and so it remains to be seen whether or not Sanches wants to stay and prove himself, or consider his options after just one year and start afresh in Manchester with the Red Devils.

As he continues to currently focus on the U21s European Championship, no decision on his future is likely to be made any time soon, but based on this report, Man Utd could be stepping up their interest in the coming weeks to determine whether or not he can be prised away.

It’s added in the report that the Premier League giants did try to sign Sanches last summer too, and so they’ll be hoping it won’t be another snub if they make a move.
