Pep Guardiola to receive £60m+ windfall, Man City hero in shock exit talk

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has wasted no time in strengthening his squad this summer, but Sergio Aguero could reportedly be heading in the opposite direction.

City have already signed Bernardo Silva and Ederson, while several more names have been linked with a move to the Etihad in the coming weeks.

However, the Spanish tactician will surely have to balance the books where possible and create space in his squad for new arrivals, and according to The Times he could do both in one move with Paris Saint-Germain said to be preparing a £60m+ move for Aguero.

From the perspective of the Ligue 1 giants, they are expected to make significant changes to their squad this summer as they failed to defend their league title last season, while they also fell well short in the Champions League yet again.

In turn, a signing like Aguero would be a major arrival to boost their hopes of silverware next season, and given his goalscoring record over the years, he would be a crucial addition for the club.

The rumour has seemingly gathered strength due to the fact that the Argentine international was dropped in favour of Gabriel Jesus in the back-end of last season, and if he isn’t Guardiola’s first-choice striker next year, then perhaps he will favour a move elsewhere.

The counter argument to that is of course that City will be competing on various fronts and will need quality and depth in all positions, and so Aguero would certainly have a major role to play at the Etihad.

However, it might not be enough if the Manchester outfit are intrigued by the offer, and if the player wishes to move on and start a new challenge. With Jesus, Silva, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Leroy Sane all vying for places, there is plenty of competition for Aguero moving forward.
