Liverpool fans look away, monster €80m assault to be launched by Euro giants

Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly set to launch a whopping €80m bid to sign Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho if they fail to land Kylian Mbappe.

The 25-year-old was a key figure for Jurgen Klopp last season in helping Liverpool qualify for the Champions League, as they face a qualifier later this summer to get back to the top table in Europe.

Coutinho bagged 14 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances in all competitions, as he has undoubtedly grown and improved into a leading player for the Merseyside giants since arriving from Inter in 2013.

However, according to Le10 Sport, they could have a real fight on their hands to keep him at Anfield moving forward as PSG could switch their attention to the Brazilian international this summer.

It’s no secret that the Ligue 1 giants are looking to add a marquee signing to the squad, but their advances for Cristiano Ronaldo and Mbappe don’t seem to be bringing the desired results so far.

Particularly in the case of the latter, it’s claimed that if they are unable to prise Monaco’s brightest young talent away, they will then switch their focus back to Coutinho.

It won’t be easy to convince Liverpool to sell though, as it’s claimed that the Reds have set a price of €100m, although PSG are only willing to go up to €80m for the former Inter playmaker.

Whether or not Klopp and the club are even willing to discuss a deal is unlikely, but as per this report, it seems as though PSG are ready to test their resolve and see if a move for Coutinho is possible this summer to bolster their squad even though it won’t be cheap.
