Chelsea to rival AC Milan for Aubameyang

Premier League champions Chelsea have emerged as rivals to Italian giants AC Milan for the signature of Borussia Dortmund’s Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, according to the Daily Express.

With Everton’s Romelu Lukaku on the verge of sealing a £75 million transfer to Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is looking to boost his side’s attacking options, with the future of Diego Costa still very much uncertain.

The Spanish international has been reportedly advised by Conte to look for another club, and has been heavily linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.

Having scored 31 goals in 31 league games last season for Dortmund, Aubameyang has been linked with lucrative moves to both PSG and the Chinese Super League before AC Milan, the club he began his career with, made their move to re-sign the forward last week.

Chelsea, having missed out on re-signing Lukaku, have now set their sights on Aubameyang to add to their firepower as the club look to retain their Premier League crown and compete in the Champions League.

Dortmund are likely to demand up to €80 million for the player, whilst Chelsea retain a strong interest in Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
