Man United star closing in on £10M West Brom switch

Manchester United and England defender Chris Smalling is edging ever-closer to securing a move away from Old Trafford, with West Brom eager to get a deal done for the player, as per the Daily Star.

Smalling, who joined the Red Devils from Fulham in 2010, has found himself out-of-favour with United boss Jose Mourinho, having only made 18 appearances in the league last season, and the player is looking for a way out of the club, with West Brom his most likely destination, according to the Daily Star.

Baggies boss is reportedly eager to reunite Smalling with his former United teammate Jonny Evans by bringing the player to the Hawthorns this summer, as reported by the Express.

The Midlands side are set to make an offer of £10M to United for Smalling once they return from their pre-season tour of Asia, report the Express.

Should West Brom manage to get a deal for Smalling over the line before September 1st, it’ll give a huge boost for the Baggies, as Pulis’ side look to improve on the impressive 10th place finish that they secured last season.
