Premier League side West Ham have confirmed the signing of 29-year-old Bayer Leverkusen striker Javier Hernandez in a deal worth around £16M, according to Sky Sports.

Hernandez, who returns to the Premier League having previously played for former champions Manchester United, underwent his medical with the Hammers on Monday, with the Mexican international signing a three-year deal with the east London club, which is reportedly worth around £140,000-a-week, making him the highest paid player at the club, as per Sky Sports.

Hernandez already has vast amounts of Premier League experience, with the Mexican having made 158 appearances during his four years at Old Trafford, scoring 59 goals in the process before being loaned to La Liga side Real Madrid and eventually sold to Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen, where he scored 39 goals in 76 appearances, guiding the club into the Champions League.

With Hernandez having completed his move to the Hammers, it’ll surely allow the West Ham faithful to breath a sigh of relief, as the goals Hernandez is set to bring to the side should hopefully see them improve on the 11th place finish they ended up in last season.
