Barcelona face serious transfer concern, fears superstar is considering future

Barcelona ace Lionel Messi is reportedly being linked with a shock exit from the club as it’s claimed that he’s seriously considering his future.

The 30-year-old still hasn’t signed a new long-term contract with the Catalan giants despite months of talks and speculation in the media.

Coupled with the fact that he’s wanted by Manchester City, as reported by The Sun, it’s suggested that the club’s disappointing transfer window could make him think twice about his future as Barcelona failed to land a number of their top targets.

As noted in the report, Philippe Coutinho, Hector Bellerin, Marco Verratti and Jean Michael Seri were just a few of the names linked with a move to the Nou Camp, but none arrived, much to the frustration of many supporters too.

That surely can’t be considered as too much of a problem though, especially given the big-money signing of Ousmane Dembele to replace Neymar, while Nelson Semedo comes in at right-back to finally provide a solution to a long-term issue.

Nevertheless, the more worrying aspect of the situation is that Messi still hasn’t yet signed a new deal, and despite the fact that the club continue to insist that they are calm about the situation and expect him to commit, the concern won’t be over until pen is put to paper.

The Argentine international is already considered a legend at Barcelona as after joining the club as a youngster in 2001, he’s gone on to score an incredible 510 goals in 587 appearances for the senior side in all competitions, winning eight La Liga titles and four Champions League trophies in that time.
